You ask what exactly is a custom Select Built Home? We’re often asked that and the answer simple! A custom home means different things to different home builders, but to us that means ...you can make most any change to your home ...and at no extra cost!
You can pick from a wide selection of our basic floor plans then customize the plan of your choice in ways that makes the home more comfortable for YOU. Every home is custom designed and custom built to each homebuyer's preferences and specifications. You can make almost any change you'd like …move walls to make a room larger to accommodate your furniture! Move, or add windows, interior and exterior doors, or a fireplace. Add a covered or uncovered patio off any bedroom or living and dining areas. You choose where you want your carport or garage and what size you want it to be. Pick your paint, carpet and tile colors and styles, or add an accent wall …your choice! And as always our Home Designers assist you every step of the way - at absolutely no charge!
Most home builders discourage new home buyers from making changes by over-pricing, using time delay tactics, or simply refusing. About the only choice you get is roofing, flooring and wall colors. Most other selections you might request are considered "upgrades" …so be prepared to pay the price and wait much longer.
There will, of course, be charges from any home builder for any increases in the size of your home, or if you choose building materials that are more expensive- but we don't discourage you from making changes. And we know you're probably going to change something after the ordering your home …so we allow a ten day grace period to make certain - you're certain …before we start building your new, custom Select Built Home!
Our basic floor plans show where the bedrooms and living areas are located. You can then increase the size of most any bedroom, the living areas, or even the kitchen! You want more windows in your bedrooms, or a door to an outside patio? You want to change the entry door to another wall? You want to choose from a wide selection of front doors? Just ask for it and it will be done - after all, it’s your home and we’ll customize it exactly like you want it! Then we'll build it in sixty days. Your family will LOVE living in a Select Built Home …we guarantee it!
You may choose from any of the following options when designing your custom built home:
- One car carport with or without a garage door
- Two car carport with or without a garage door
- One car garage with or without a garage door
- Two car garage with one or two garage doors
- Garage windows or bay windows for your home
- A workshop and/or garage storage
- Sidewalks and driveways
- Enclosed patios, porches, decks
- Insulated standard, atrium, or sliding glass exterior doors
- Any interior custom color with accent walls
- Any exterior custom color
- Extra electrical outlets and switches
- Choose your appliances - make, model and colors
- Your choice of window coverings, awnings, and shutters
- Your choice of floor coverings
- Pick a fireplace with or without a hearth or blower fans, electric or log burning
- Your choice of roof pitches and vaulted or flat ceilings with, or without beams
- We'll wire your home for cable, TV, internet, phone and home entertainment systems
- Pick your ceiling, wall and floor insulation values
- Your choice of kitchen, bath and utility room cabinets and sinks
- Put glass doors on your walk-in shower
- Attic access in both your home and your garage
- Your choice of cabinet top surfaces and backsplashes
- Your choice of bath fixtures
- Your choice of hot water heater size
- Your choice of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans
- Your choice of roofing materials
- Your choice of exterior siding materials
- Your choice of interior and exterior doors and hardware
- Your choice of moldings, casings, and trim
- Your choice of exterior electrical outlets, flood and security lights
- Your choice of exterior water hose outlets
- Your choice of front and/or back door chimes
- Your choice of front and rear porches
