Off-site built construction is not really a different type of home. It's just a different method of building it. The biggest difference comes from where the home is built, and how it's built.
Here's a first look at the construction process -
- Parts of your home (the modules) are efficiently constructed off-site in a stable, controlled environment. These modules can make up 30% to 80% of the finished home.
- While the modules are being built off site, the foundation is built on your lot (just like any conventional home)
- The modules are transported to the site and assembled on the foundation.
- The remaining construction is now completed on site.
In most cases, your home can be completely built and ready for your family in forty-five (45) to sixty (60) days. This is one of the most surprising things about off-site built construction. Even though your home is custom built to your exact specifications, the simultaneous work on the modules and foundation, combined with the speed of factory construction, make it possible to deliver your home on a schedule that no conventional builder could possibly match.
Rapid delivery is just one of a long list of advantages of off-site built construction.
