About Select Built Homes

The Company

Select Built Homes is the product of the many years of experience I have in the home building and land development industry. My construction background is in residential and commercial development and building …in seven states, three foreign countries, and in most soil conditions with all types of building materials …over a 35 year period.

Select Built Homes began with four years of extensive research at residential developments in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Florida. After detailed discussions with architects, engineers, and other land developers and builders I’ve become absolutely convinced there is a better and more economical way to build your home.

In the autumn of 2006, Select Built Homes started a "Theme Pilot Subdivision" and is currently selling and building custom homes there. The subdivision’s location, on a high sloping hill in the northwestern City Limits of Niederwald, Texas gave rise to its name - "Hochland Park". This translates to "highland park" in German.

The hill-side elevation of Hochland Park Estates, located only 30 minutes south of downtown Austin, provides an incredible panoramic view of the valley, distant hills, nearby communities …and the bright stars at night.

The "Hochland Park Estates" theme is the re-creation of an old German village. Every home built will have accents of original German settlements as are often seen in the Texas hill country. Weathered cedar post with stone, stucco and lap siding, covered sitting porches with ceiling fans, and large country lots of one acre or more give the feeling of open spaces and unique homes. Fruit and nut trees, and berries planted on the one acre plus lots will provide our new, custom homebuyers and future generations with ample provisions.

"Theme Pilot Subdivisions" are small projects, usually 20 exclusive lots or less, developed for the purpose of gathering data. The data generated from Pilots determine which floor plans, home options, and amenities are the most popular to new, custom homebuyers wishing to reside in a certain geographic area. Homes that prove to be the best sellers are then constructed as models in master planned subdivisions to be built in the general vicinity of the Pilot.
